Staff Editorial - In some circles FLIR’s Scion Long Range Thermal Monocular falls into the basic needs’ category like food, water, and air. I simply cannot argue with this non fact-based generalization that I just made up, and that I do in fact find myself needing this long range thermal monocular. Even the name sounds nice despite its lengthy syllabic handicap. Say it with me, “All I want for Christmas is my FLIR Scion Long Range Thermal Monocular!” It just rolls off the tongue. Here is what has us enthusiastically geeking out over it. FLIR recently expanded the Scion Thermal Monocular Series with longer range detection. The new 25mm and 36mm lens options expand viewing capabilities up to 770 meters and 1,120 meters, respectively. Paired with FLIR’s high-performance Boson thermal core, users can observe objects at extreme distances with unparalleled clarity. Additionally, users can tailor their own viewing preferences using the new manual focus feature. How cool is that!? This is the kind of thing you would want in your toolbox even if there was no pandemic, social movement, major election, recession, and global climate change presenting constant existential challenges and stoking the fires of paranoia.

That is an excellent question, and as we all know, we must make the bean counters – old German idiom - happy.
