Small form-factor UPS for edge networks

Lithium batteries boast more power while requiring less space (smaller heat sinks to name one reduced element). Utilizing these technological benefits, Schneider Electric (APC) has released the compact Smart-UPS Ultra series.

The series has 2 power options: The 3kW 1U UPS (1/2 the size and weight of the industry standard UPS with the same power) comes with 6 outlets and support for up to 5 external battery packs. The 5kW 2U (most units are 3 to 4U) has extended runtime options with the option for 10 external battery packs! Both units have optional wireless integration.

Along with traditional deployment, the Smart-UPS Ultra really shines in edge networks. Both units can be easily mounted underneath a desk or to a wall in say a retail space, doctor's office, or any other professional setting where space is at a premium.
